徽，字蔚章，吳郡人。起字，貞元初進士登第，從事戎幕。元和初入朝。三年，自祠部員外郎充翰林學士，十年，遷中書舍人。次年，因諫事罷學士，出爲虢州刺史。長慶元年，自禮部侍郎出爲江州刺史。移湖州。遷工部侍郎，出刺華州。大和二年以疾辭位，翌年卒，年七十五。詩一首又二句。（《全唐詩》無錢徽詩，茲據《舊唐書》卷一六八本傳、《中華文史論叢》第九輯朱金城《〈白氏長慶集〉人名箋證》疑傳）
