帝諱忱，憲宗第十三子，初名怡，封光王。會昌六年，立爲皇太叔，恭儉好善，虛襟聽納，大中之政，有貞觀風。每曲宴，與學士倡和，公卿出鎮，多賦詩餞行。重科第，留心貢舉。常微行，采輿論，察知選士之得失。其對朝臣，必問及第與所試詩賦題，主司姓氏，苟有科名對者，必大喜。或佳人物偶不中第，必歎息移時。常於內自題鄉貢進士李道龍云。在位十三年，諡曰獻文，詩六首。
