令狐楚，字殼士，宜州華原人。貞元七年及第，由太原掌書記至判官。德宗好文，每省太原奏，必能辨楚所爲。數稱之，召授右拾遺。憲宗時，累擢職方員外郎、知制誥。皇甫鎛薦爲翰林學士，進中書舍人，出爲華州刺史。鎛既相，復薦楚爲中書侍郎同平章事。穆宗即位，進門下侍郎，尋出爲宣歙觀察使，貶衡州刺史，再徙太子賓客，分司東都。長慶二年，擢陝虢觀察使。敬宗立，拜楚爲河南尹，遷宣武節度使，入爲戶部尚書，俄拜東都留守，徙天平節度使，召爲吏部尚書，檢校尚書右僕射，進拜左僕射，彭陽郡公。開成元年，上疏辭位，拜山南西道節度使。卒，贈司空，諡曰文。集一百三十卷，歌詩一卷，今編詩一卷。
