檢影宋書棚本此詩附於李端《得山中道友書寄苗錢二員外》後，題作「酬前」，下署「駕部員外郎苗發」，殆爲苗發酬答李端見寄之作而附入李端集者。
後代輾轉刻印，誤將苗發職銜與詩題相連，遂誤成端詩。
類似情況，在唐人原集中甚常見，如竇叔向詩誤歸已經繼之類，岑仲勉、李嘉言二先生已指出。
苗發與張芬詩誤歸李端，亦屬同類型錯誤。
